Under the home-based private school option, file a Private School Affidavit (PSA) between October 1 and October 15 each year.
Withdrawing from Public School
File a Private School Affidavit to establish your homeschool as a private school.
Additional Notes
California has three options: home-based private school (most common, file annual PSA), private school satellite program (PSP/umbrella), or credentialed tutor. Under the PSA option there are no required subjects, no testing, and no teacher qualifications. Compulsory ages are 6 through 18.
